Gosh Lee, you just took me down memory lane. Rolling my cigarettes in my early twenties, wine bars galore in Amsterdam. I quit drinking much alcohol when marijuana became the going trend in the seventies in California; then I had a family, and drinking became a social affair.
When I became a walker and hiker, all these life enhancing drugs couldn't compete with what nature had to offer. I have a very occasional glass of wine; good wine, good taste. Mostly I abstain, I sleep better and, like you, I want to be clear headed when I wake.
I like what you say about what nature has to offer instead of alcohol, Demi. I love walking in nature too (altho not in your league) and want to continue to do so. Thanks for your comment.
‘Those were the days my friend.’ Great photo- definitely part of the ‘in’ crowd. You can enjoy these quieter days now because you ‘did’ the exuberant ones. Your piece is a great reminder of the social licence of the times.
Love that photo Lee - you look so cool!
Thank you Jen. Long time ago.
What a great picture!
Good story. Those days of wine and ciggies, your granny's lap, driving home in the dark.
Very evocative
Thanks Aidre. Now it's cups of tea and a naughty gluten free biscuit.

Thanks Lou. Yes I definitely embraced those days enthusiastically. Feel lucky to still be around to tell the tales.
